Unitary state versus federal state : Searching for an ideal form of the future indonesian state
As the political reform progressed, one important remark emerged: whether to maintain the form of the Indonesian state as a unitary system or to alter it into a federal system. Later on, an idea arose: Indonesia should retain the unitary system of government but may incorporate elements of federalism, and should also take into account its diverse history, values, and geographic factors of the regions.
This book, consisting of concise and profound ideas based on discussions and writings by a number of Indonesian and foreign academics, is dedicated to draw a comprehensive report on the topic that has received special attention in the national political landscape, for a wider audience.
